Designated Teacher
Every school in Hertfordshire will have one teacher who has agreed to be responsible for the children who are looked after in public care. These teachers are called “designated teachers”. He or she will make sure that:
You have all the help you need to do your best in school
- The school understands your potential to do well
Information about you is passed on quickly where it is needed
Every child or young person in public care has PEP and a Home-School Agreement
- You have someone to talk to if you need support
You can ask your social worker or a teacher at your school, who is the designated teacher in your school.
