Reviews

The Children, Schools and Families Service must hold meetings to talk about how their plans for looking after you are working out.  They have to think about whether these plans need to be changed. These meetings are called “reviews”.

Your first review should be four weeks after you were first “looked after”.  The next one should be in three months and then after that they will happen every six months.

The review is a chance for you and everyone involved in looking after you to say how he or she thinks things are going for you.  There is also a special form that you will be asked to fill in which asks you what you think about how you are being looked after. Sometimes you may prepare for your Review by using a special computer programme called 'Viewpoint.'. 'Viewpoint' gives you a chance to think about lots of things that may help you at your Review, but it is designed to make it more fun to do. A trained person from CSF will visit you where you are living to help you use it.

You are always welcome to attend your review; after all it is about you!  Other people are also invited to attend.  These could include your carers, your parents (although this will depend on a number of things), your school, your advisory teacher and your youth offending team worker (if you have one).

You should ask your social worker who has been invited to your review. You have the right to say if there are some people that you do not want to be there. You can also bring someone along to the review to be with you, or to help you say what you want to say at the review.
