Sexual Relationships

The legal age for a girl to have sex is 16.  It is illegal for a man or boy to have sex with a girl who is younger than 16.  Breaking this law can lead to the man or boy being arrested and even imprisoned.  It can also lead to Child Protection procedures (as explained under “Child Protection”).

Having sex should be a loving, caring thing.  You should feel respected and cared for by your partner and you should respect and care for them. You should never be pressurised into having sex, or pressurise anyone else into it.
