Exams
Most people feel nervous about taking exams, although some people actually enjoy them! Whilst there is more to doing well at school than taking exams, having some qualifications will give you more choices in the future.
There are different levels for GCSE exam papers, which are called “tiers”. Your teacher should talk to you about which “tier” you are entered for.
If you don’t pass an exam the first time you take it you can always re-sit it. There are also other options available through Further Education Colleges or schemes such as “Learning Gateway”. It is also worth considering that some qualifications are assessed more on course work than on exams. You could talk to your tutor, personal advisor, designated teacher, social worker or carer about this.
