Emergency Protection Orders
If the social workers from Children, Schools and Families feel that it is unsafe for you to stay at home, they can apply for an Emergency Protection Order from the court. This can only last for 8 days and you may go to live with a foster family or in Children’s Home for that time.
The order only lasts for a short while so that Children, Schools and Families can make better plans for you whilst making sure that you are safe in the meantime. You don’t have to remain on this Order for the full 8 days if things change and it is safe for you to go home, but you will need the help of a solicitor.
