Corporate Parenting Panel

When you are “in care” it is a bit like everyone in the whole of Hertfordshire County Council is your parent!  This is what is meant when you hear people talk about “Corporate Parenting”.  It also means that the County Council should do everything to care for you that a good parent would do.

The County Council has a Corporate Parenting Panel, which is made up of county council members whose role it is to make sure that children in care in Hertfordshire are being properly cared for.  They receive reports from the managers of social work teams, from the fostering and adoption service as well as from the children’s homes and the leaving care services.
