Voluntary organisations

These are organisations that are nothing to do with the County Council or the Government.  There are hundreds of voluntary organisations and many of them work with children and young people.

The Samaritans and Voice are both voluntary organisations.  It may not make very much difference to you knowing which organisations are voluntary and which are run by the Government (“statutory”).  However, if you hear adults talking about “statutory” and “voluntary” organisations you will know what they mean.

You may also want to find out about some of the voluntary organisations and what they do.  You may find that there is an organisation that could help you in some way.
