Voice

This is a special advocacy service for children that are looked after.  Hertfordshire County Council have asked them to set up a project for all the young people looked after in this county.

This means that whenever you feel that you have something that you want others to hear, you can contact them to help you say this.  It may be that you would like them to help you say something about the way you are cared for, where you are living, your education or plans that are being made for you.  You can ask someone from Voice to come with you to any meetings or reviews.  You could ask them to help you write a letter or make a phone call.  They are there to help you get your views and your voice heard!

Any adult that you know can contact Voice for you, but before Voice start working for you, they will always want to speak to you to make sure that it is what you want.  You can also phone them directly.  Their number is in the list of Help lines and Other Useful Organisations.

Voice is a free and confidential service and they won’t discuss anything you don’t want them to unless you agree.  The only exception to this is if the advocate believes that you are in danger, or that you are putting someone else at risk.
